GRAMMY®-nominated duo Thompson Square returns to country radio with upbeat show-stopper “Without You,” now going for adds nationwide. Banjo-backed and laden with their refreshing, husband and wife harmonies, Keifer Thompson takes the lead, lamenting over all he’d be (or wouldn’t be) in the absence of his loved one. Co-written by Tim Nichols, Anthony Olympia, and Brent Rupard, “Without You” gives that timely “top down, music up, hit the road” vibe as we head into warmer months - and radio’s smitten: “Without You” was the #1 most added song at country radio on impact, garnering the support of 41 stations total right out the gate.
“Yesterday our latest single ‘Without You’ went to radio and it was the most added song in the country… We were truly blown away, and can’t thank country radio enough for their support, and are so grateful for our hardworking team at Quartz Hill,” said Keifer on their “Without You” radio debut.
“When picking songs for an album, it’s always hard because you want to release the best possible music for your fans. Sometimes a song comes along that fits so perfectly you know right away that you have to record it - ‘Without You’ is one of those songs,” added Keifer of the tune. “‘Without You’ was written by Tim Nichols, Anthony Olympia and Brent Rupard, and even though we didn’t pen this song with them, it felt like we were in the room. This song is so ‘Thompson Square.’ It feels like summer. It feels like fun, and we can’t wait to share it with our fans and the rest of the world.
“Without You” follows last year’s debut of country-rock ode “Country In My Soul.” The song, co-written by the genre’s latest songstress-turned-star Lainey Wilson with Daniel Ross (“Had Me at Halftime” for Morgan Wallen) and James McNair (“Lovin’ on You” for Luke Combs) - put the pair back on the map as the second most added song by stations nationwide on impact. Billboard applauded the song’s “crunchy guitar chords and boppy harmonies,” as well as its “clean, bright production…”
